1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?

Join Facebook. Vote. Go to New York. Get a credit card. Eat fruit off a tree. Wear a thong. Eat homemade Indian food. Watch a meteor shower outdoors.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Getting into UCLA’s theater program.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Neglecting (a lot of) friendships.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

The best thing I personally bought (for myself) is the $12.50 pair of skinny jeans from Forever21, if you consider cost-per-wear.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Cathy's, even though she'll probably never read this.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Savings and food.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?

“Love Song” by Sara Bareilles because it was the theme song for my UCLA visits and interview.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder?

Infinitely happier, always happier.

26. What was the best book you read?

Lolita.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?

The Dark Knight.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Do homework, eat donuts, clear my inbox of "LYSOL" emails. Eighteen.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

If New York were as amazing as I expected.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?

Evolving. From experimental to pseudo-mainstream to careless.

34. What kept you sane?

Most of the time, myself and a lot of pep-talking.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Five-way tie among Barack Obama, Jason Mraz, Bo Burnham, Susie Bubble, and Gala Darling. I am such a dork.

37. Who did you miss?

The bike rack, only some of whom are linkable, and my theater group, who can be summed up in this Etch-A-Sketch drawing Sunshine did and this picture of me on the floor wrapped in bubble wrap:

A tie between my roommate and Amman.

Family time is more important than whatever else you are doing.
